Cascade Training Center provides official American Heart Association PALS Courses. Upon successful course completion you will be issued an official AHA PALS provider card.

The PALS Provider Update Course is designed to teach providers the knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate and manage pediatric cardiovascular emergencies. Students are expected to participate in lecture, learning stations, review stations and skills testing scenarios. The goal of the PALS Provider Course is to teach students how to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, to provide students with strategies for preventing cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children, and to teach students how to perform the cognitive and psychomotor skills for resuscitating and stabilizing infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest. The PALS curriculum includes:

Respiratory Emergencies
- Recognize and perform early management of respiratory arrest
- Skills in bag-mask ventilation
- management of airway
Pre-Arrest Emergencies
- Bradycardia
- Stable Tachycardia
- Unstable Tachycardia
Cardiac Arrest
- Simple VF/VT
- Complex VF/VT
- Asystole
Per current AHA program administration guidelines, A BLS CPR card is NOT required for this course, but you must be proficient in BLS for healthcare provider skills and your skills will be reviewed and evaluated as part of the PALS Provider Course. BLS certification is not included with PALS course registration. Students that are not confident in their BLS CPR Skills should register for a CPR for Healthcare Provider Course prior to attending the PALS Course. Many PALS courses offered through Cascade Training Center include an option to renew your BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers credential. You may see an option to purchase this as a FASTTrack BLS renewal or BLS CPR Online Part 1 w/ Skills Verification. Textbook Policy:

The American Heart Association requires each student to have access to their own current AHA PALS Provider Textbook prior to, during and after the PALS course. If you do not have access to a text book, you MUST purchase one and will have the option to purchase one during your registration. If the option to purchase a textbook is not available please contact the Training Center at (877) 277-6778 for information on how you can purchase one. If you would like your textbook shipped to you before the course, please select the shipping option at the time of checkout. Your textbook will be shipped within 2 business days to the address supplied during course registration.

Pre-Course Materials:

Please note for PALS - Precourse is MANDATORY
Before the course, please read the PALS Provider Manual, complete the mandatory pre-course assessment modules on the student website click here identify any gaps in your knowledge, and remediate those gaps by studying the applicable content in the PALS Provider Manual or other supplementary resources, including the student website click here. A passing score for the self-assessment is 70% and you may take it an unlimited number of times to achieve a passing score.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:

The Cascade Training Center does not offer refunds once your registration is complete. If you have an emergency that makes you unable to attend the course, you must contact the Training Center before 48 hours of the start time of day one of the class and the Training Center Staff will move you to the next available course or issue a course credit.

Course credits can only be applied to the same type of course, may not be used by another person and must be used within 90 days of the missed course. Once a credit is applied, the student must attend that course – a credited course will not be refunded or credited a second time.

Continuing Education:

The Cascade Training Center is accredited by the Washington State Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Cascade Training Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 5 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity meets the criteria for up to 5 hours of Category I CME credit to satisfy the relicensure requirements of the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission.
