Course Format: Classroom Lecture, Small Group Learning Stations, Practical Testing Scenarios and Written Exam.

Cascade Training Center provides official American Heart Association ACLS Certification Classes. Upon successful course completion you will be issued an official AHA ACLS provider card on site.

The ACLS Provider Training Certification Course is designed to teach providers the knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate and manage adult cardiovascular emergencies. Students are expected to participate in lecture, learning stations, review stations and skills testing scenarios. The ACLS curriculum includes:

Per current AHA program administration guidelines, A BLS CPR card is NOT required for this course, but you must be proficient in Adult BLS for healthcare provider skills and your skills will be reviewed and evaluated as part of the ACLS Provider Course. BLS certification is not included with ACLS course registration. Students that are not confident in their BLS CPR Skills should register for a BLS Course prior to attending the ACLS Course. Many ACLS courses offered through Cascade Training Center include an option to renew your BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers credential. You may see an option to purchase this as a connected class. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. If you have previously claimed an eCard, it can be found by visiting www.heart.org/cpr/mycards. Under the section titled "Students," input your name and email address OR your eCard credential ID, and then click "Search." You will be prompted to enter the answer to the security question you created upon claiming your eCard.

ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented

Cascade is an authorized Training Center by the American Heart Association in all 50 states to provide ACLS training. (AHA TC: WA15590)

•Key changes in advanced cardiovascular life support, reflecting the most current American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care •Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device and use of an (AED) •Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest •Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia •Airway management •Related pharmacology •Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke •Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team •Effective Resuscitation Team Dynamics

YES, a copy of your ACLS pre-course self-assessment with a score of 70% or higher is required for entrance into an ACLS course. This is a policy implemented by AHA with the release of their 2015 guidelines. The ACLS pre-course self-assessment can be accessed by visiting www.heart.org/eccstudent and entering the code found on Page ii of your current ACLS student manual (published 03/2016).

ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.

Initial Provider Course requires approximately 12-16 hours to complete, including skills practice and skills testing. Renewal Course requires approximately 6-8 hours, including skills practice and skills testing. This length also accounts for scheduled breaks within the course.

Students must achieve at least an 84% on the written test to pass.

Upon successful course completion, including demonstration of skills competency in all learning stations and passing the CPR and AED skills test, bag-mask ventilation skills test, a Megacode test and a written test, students receive an official American Heart Association ACLS course completion card, valid for two years.
