Course Details

Cascade Training Center provides official NAEMT Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support courses. Upon successful course completion you will be issued an official NAEMT PHTLS provider card.

Course Synopsis: This is the PHTLS hybrid course is for providers who have the need to continue their education in the treatment of trauma patients. This indispensable program is designed to enhance and increase knowledge and skill in delivering critical care in the pre-hospital environment. This PHTLS Hybrid course is composed of two parts: 1. Part one is an online comprehensive course purchased, accessed, and completed at http://go.jblearning.com/phtlsonline. 2. Part two is a Cascade instructor-led course review, hands-on skills where students practice and complete various skills, and a written evaluation. Course Objectives: PHTLS courses goals are to improve the quality of trauma care in your area and decrease mortality. The program is based on a pre-hospital trauma care philosophy, stressing the treatment of the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs. This may require an approach to the trauma patient that varies from traditional treatment modalities. PHTLS is a continuing education program authored and administered by the PHTLS division of the National Association of EMTs (NAEMT) in conjunction with the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons.Comprehensive, evidenced-based coverage incorporates the latest research across all aspects of prehospital trauma in one convenient resource. The PHTLS credential is good for 4 years and the Hybrid course offers 16 hours for continuing education credit. Students are expected to participate in lecture, learning stations, review stations and skills testing scenarios. The PHTLS curriculum includes:

Textbook Policy:

The NAEMT recommends each student have access to their own current PHTLS Provider Manual prior to, during and after the PHTLS course. If you do not have access to a text book, you can purchase one online by visiting www.jblearning.com.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:

The Cascade Training Center does not offer refunds once your registration is complete. If you have an emergency that makes you unable to attend the course, you must contact the Training Center before 48 hours of the start time of day one of the class and the Training Center Staff will move you to the next available course or issue a course credit. Course credits can only be applied to the same type of course, may not be used by another person and must be used within 90 days of the missed course. Once a credit is applied, the student must attend that course – a credited course will not be refunded or credited a second time.
